AAS Wap Site Needs Improving

Time for a long hard look at the AAS Wap Site. It’s got some seriously good stuff in there (such as full Read and Post access to the Forums) but a few links (such as Downloads and the Software Reviews) are broken links and really need fixed.

I don;t want to just delete the links - I want to work out why they don;t work and fix them so they do. I just have this thing about WAP that it should have access to all the info, not just a sub section.

One thing that I have been using extensivly is the “News from Other Sites” feature. This allows me to look at news from sites on my WAP Browser, even if they don’t have their own WAP site. Rafe knocked this bit up. I suspect that somewhere in there is some software for reading RSS Feeds and converting them to WAP.

If that’s the case then it’s time to open up a whole load of sites so we can run AAS as a portal to the Symbian World. Anything with an RSS Feed (from Mobitopia, to The Register) should be able to be added to the page of External News.

Let’s give everyone the world on a stick.

Just when I have no internet access Ewan gets a bee in his bonnet about the WAP site. Just my luck! :) This is seriously on my list of things to do. Doing it off line is a bit tricky though. See my blog for why I’m not connected.

I forgot to say is that what Ewan doesn’t know is that I’ve been working on and off for a while on an improved RSS viewer for WAP which should allow any RSS file to be viewed…

Woo! I’ll strike RSS of my To-Do list then - still leaves a few other bits and pieces.
