The White Strikes
Seven Nation Army was a damm good tune, and a completely freaky video. For a long time I believed the White Stripes were actually a pretty good rock band. Until this weekend, when I saw their second single on Kerrang.
It’s an incredibly bad cover of the Dusty Springfield Power Ballad (tm Jennifer Rush) I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself. It doesn’t flow, it’s not a patch on the original, and for some reason the video is a fixed camera on a Pole Dancer.
Bad, bad, bad follow up in all respects. I just hope The Darkness decide to cover Mudd’s Lonely This Christmas to restore my faith in the UK Rock scene if nothing else.
