Join Me In My Farewell “Do Somthing Mad in London”

Since reading Tunnel Vision, and coming across an article in the Evening Standard about the idea of visiting every Tube Station on the London Underground in one day, I’ve wanted to attempt it, but know that it would take too long, and take too much planning.

Jody, on the other hand, really wants to give it a go. So, an alternative is needed. And seeing as I’m moving back to Edinburgh very soon, I need to do this in the near future. Therefore, I’m currently planning the following challenge:

To Visit Every Zone 1 Tube Station in Under 3 Hours 30 Minutes.

Here’s the deal, I’ll be starting at 12.30 on a weekday in the last week of July (probably Friday the 30th July, but don’t quote me just yet). If you’d like to join me as I rattle round Central London and visiting every station of note (and Hyde Park Corner) then make sure you’re at Vauxhall Ticket Office for around 12.20 to find me.

Anyone wishing to set up a Rival team to try and beat me on the day is more than welcome, I’d only ask you to also start at Vauxhall with us. Once it’s all over, we’ll retire to a pub at around 4pm for a late lunch/early dinner, some farewell drinks, and I’ll invite you all to the housewarming in Edinburgh.

Blimey, good luck to you.

I’m doing exactly the opposite. I’m visiting and documenting every train and tube stop in Zone 6. This will take a lot longer than 3 hours 30 minutes, though.

When I visited London back in 02, I rode the Tube a whole lot, but better yet, I collected a locality map from each of the stations that I went through. I totally want to try this the next time I go! So very cool. Best of luck!
