So it comes to this. The world needs to hold on for four years, like Sylvester the Cat hanging from a clothes line, hoping that Tweety Pie doesn’t use his fingers to play ‘This Little Piggie Went To Market.’ Because every time, Tweety runs out of piggies and Sylvester falls into a cartoon Dante’s Inferno. Is this how the world will end?

Is that too dramatic?

Bush has destabilised the whole middle east, giving those religions a clear target of America. With the last of the fossil fuels at stake, and an overstretched army in need of hundreds of thousands of troops? Can you say draft? Think it won’t happen? One more ‘terrorist’ strike on home soil will be all the mandate he needs.

I have to say though, blindsiding the whole press about the supression of votes and armies of challenge lawyers in poll stations was classic misdirection. Was anyone really focused on the Diebold software in the voting machines? The exit polls are normally pretty accurate, and all of them were reflecting on a Kerry win. As the night wore on, and the votes were tallied, the results looked remarkably like 2000. Something smells rotten in the state of Denmark.

Does it really come down to holding out for Hilary Rodham in 2008?
