Just in case the last 24 hours or so before David Tennants full episodic entrance as Doctor Who is too much for you, you might like to listen to the recently aired BBC Radio 2 documentary on the new series and how the 2005 series went down

2006 tech/media predictions from Weblogs Inc/AOL’s Jason Calacanis. I’m intruiged by his comment that No podcasting company will have any significant success in 2006, but a number of podcasters will be offered great jobs at Sirius and XM Radio. I’ve asked in the comments what he’d define as success. After all, if a podcaster is bringing in a living wage from his podcast, I’d consider that a success - and in 2006 I feel a lot of ‘casts are going to be in that position.

The Oakland Tribune is seeking 537 copies of George Orewell’s 1984 to send to the US President, his Veep, and the Houses of Congress and the Senate. Highly admirable- but haven;t they forgotten about the Supreme Court, the third branch of high point of US Government?

On the AOL/Google deal, interesting to note that on July 1st 2008, Google’s 5% stake means theat they have the right to force AOL to either (a) list themselves on the SEC - ie move to an IPO or (b) buy back Google’s 5% stake at the expected rate that 5% would be worth if AOL were to be made public. It’s AOL’s choice on (a) or (b). PaidContent note that it’s a standard inclusion in a deal such as this, but, hmm…
