Doctor Who and The Christmas Invasion Thoughts

Okay, Doctor Who Day has been and gone, and wasn’t it fantastic? If you;re planning on grabbing a torrent of The Christmas Invasion, then I’m keeping this as spoiler-lite as possible, but it will spill some stuff, so be warned.
David Tennant is Doctor Who. Simple as that. Taking the strong Rose character and showing that without ‘her’ Doctor she’s as useless as everyone else
I loved that any of the back continuity was there, but not in a JNT-Fanboy way that screamed look at me. For example, in the Tardis wardrobe…

…(apart from the massive squeeeee that we’ve seen another room in the redesigned Tardis and OMG!) Tennant has obviously got a bit chilly while deciding on his costume, so he’s done what any respectable Time Lord would do and thrown a scarf around him. The Tom Baker Season 18 scarf.

Tennant’s on record as saying that Tom Baker is his Doctor (he even has his copy of the Doctor Who Monster Book signed by Baker) so it’s a lovely touch. Not as lovely as sneaking in Baker’s Madame Tussauds waxwork though!

Final thought for today? “No, sorry, that’s The Lion King.” Squeee!

F***ing amazing!
Happy New Year Ewan, by the way!
The episode also addressed the Doctor’s weak wrist comment in the Children In Need special!
Nice.
Agreed with the weak dorsal joint touch yes - as I said, lots of fan-stuff but in such a way it’s not screamingly “huh?” to a nonfan. Lovely touch.
who did the song when the doctor is getting dressed in that scene near the end? i really like that song.
Houston,
From what the fans can gather by listening to the commentary track on bbc.co.uk/doctorwho, the song was an original piece by Murray Gold, the show composer. There’s debate where the singer from Mull Historical Society is the vocalist.
