SXSW Photo Rejection
Posted on January 31, 2006

Bah Humbugs,
Ewan,
The photograph you uploaded to the SXSW Online Registrant Directory was unnacceptable for the following reason:
We’re not printing a lego on your badge.
Please feel free to visit https://regdir.sxsw.com/ to upload a photograph that meets the stated requirements.
Don’t they realise that the Lego Ewan (see the website’s top banner for one example) is even more identifiable than my picture?

rebelrebel..for sure..
anyway It would have been cool..
keep on pushing them !
ROTFLOL - that is SO funny!
Was it the general concept of Lego that they objected to, or that they mistook the kilt for a skirt, and thus objected to reproducing a picture of a Lego cross-dresser?
Either way - print it out on a sticker and then hack your badge when you get there.

You should be glad. Your bum looks big in it…
They’re probably worried that Lego will take them to court or something for using the Lego IP.
Nothing quite like a bit of anal retention to get a day off to a good start :-)
Frankly, we’ve gotten a few laughs out of some of the photos uploaded. Throughout the day, I’ve gotten snarkier in my stated reasons for rejection. One photo was a blurry image of a woman holding up a sign that read “Shut up, B*tch!” My retort… “No… *You* shut up ;-)”, along with a suggestion of what a proper badge photo should be.
Four Things
Where’s the time gone - didn’t think it’s been a week since I posted. I’ve been tagged twice (by Lloyd and Andrew) so here’s a recent meme… Four jobs I’ve had: Bartender Insect Counter in an Entomology lab Warehouse packer…
You don’t think, the kilt and the not so nice hair than on the lego give you away? :)
