Podcasting on the Radio Cafe

As you might remember, I was on BBC Radio Scotland’s Radio Cafe this past Tuesday to talk about podcasting.

As podcasting grows in popularity we’ll be talking to the new Podcast Editor of The Daily Telegraph about his role and to Ewan Spence who launched the first commercial podcasting network. Julie Adair, Head of New Media at BBC Scotland, will be on hand too to explain what these developments mean for traditional broadcasters and what podcasting ventures are being tried by the BBC.

It’s still up on Listen Again, go for about 35 minutes into Tuesday 31st January’s Show. The slot was about 6 minutes, where I was expecting around 15, so there was only enough time to fire in a public-friendly explanation of podcasting, and The Podcast Network URL. Probably the best thing was they had assemmbled a montage of TPN shows to open the piece, which is the first time that the “Listen, Learn, Evolve” has been heard on UK radio. Which makes me happy

The BBC only holds them on their site for seven days before scrapping the Real Audio stream of the show - I’ll need to hunt for my off-air copy…
