Lovely Alexa Graph for The Podcast Network

I know that Alexa is only a sample of people with a certain IE toolbar. I know that it can’t be fully representative. I know that you can’t rely on it for anything other than long term trends. But I know a lot of people put a lot of stock in it, and it is regarded as reasonably indepenent.

I just love this graph…

World Domination here you come ;-)
People still use IE?
Rachel, I’ll settle for the western world domination.
CC, I guess so. But then if company A targets the lowest common denominator, then surely that means IE?
Ewan,
why the massive (relatively) spike on 1 April, and the drop for May? What happened? Otherwise it does seem to be a normal weekly thing with people getting their ‘fix’ every Friday it seems. Interesting that actually. Why Friday, and not say Saturday, or are all of the main podcasters giving up the ‘day’ job (if they ever had a ‘regular’ 9-5 gig), so can do the cast on a Friday, while us ‘castees’ listen in on a Friday knowing that the week is almost done. Thanks for the graph by the way, it is really good, and does show nicely that while the numbers seem to have dropped for May, that TPN is overtaking Adam’s crew. Keep up the good work!
Bruce,
No idea on April first, but it’s a global spike, so maybe a lot of catchers defaulting to once a month? Lots of thought behind the Friday one is going on, possibly peopel loading up to come home from work, mixed with casters doing a cast on Friday night ager work? As to the trends in teh graph, yes it is nice to see… :-)
