Here Comes The Edinburgh Fringe Podcast for 2006

Since the start of April, I’ve been getting emails asking the same thing – “are you doing your podcast from The Edinburgh Fringe this year?” Well, after a little bit of consideration, and given the upswell of support from the unknown (to me) listeners who have taken the time to email me, and that the show managed to gather a BAFTA nomination last year… The Edinburgh Fringe Podcast will return this year.

Fringe PlanningThat means the planning has started in earnest, and that means a million bits and pieces of paper being thrown around, a list a mile long of PR contacts, acts, theatre troops, agents, celebrities, the small hidden show that’s going to be huge… and trying to spot all of these early enough enough that I can program them into the show.

Even after a day or two of planning the show is looking very healthy. One act as has signed on to appear in a number of shows throughout the run, I’m taking to some others to create some more ‘running features’ to provide a bit more continuity through the month of daily shows. On top of those there’lll be the daily interviews with some of the bigger (and smaller) shows, news from around the Fringe, the blog, the pictures.

Ooh, it’s going to be fun – it’s still a scary undertaking, but I don’t think it’ll be a completely one man show this time. The site, as last year, is http://edinburghfringe.thepodcastnetwork.com/ and this is the RSS feed. All of last year’s shows are still archived, so you can listen to my interview technique from a year ago!

Excellent news, Ewan! I’m looking forward to it already. The Jolly Judge wifi is back in business, too. :-)
