Roll Up, Roll Up, The Podcast Network Now Taking Bids for Advertising!

Right then, time to try something a little bit different. Well, I say a little bit different, but this isn’t the first time that a pod(v)cast has put some advertising inventory up on Ebay – in fact it’s not even the first time that TPN has done this sort of thing – G’Day World’s coverage of Demo 2005 was put up on Ebay.

So how is it going to work. Well, we’re starting with our larger shows, and are offering up to three 15 second spots on our shows (currently G’Day World spots and PSP Show spots are available), with the starting price of $250 Australlian ($200 US). No reserve, although we’ll raise our small print filled eyebrows if Podtech and Scoble decide to buy airtime (and then probably take the money).

The Podcast Network – buy up some advertising

From Ewan, over at The Podcast Network, they are now offering up 15 second slots for advertisers on ebay for a couple of their shows. The constrictions of ebay descriptions mean that the offer is for pick up only ;-)…

[...] Unless, that is, you do like Podcast Network and have a minimum bid.  Stupid.  I suppose the idea is that they figure that the minimum bid is the lowest they will take for the spots, but I think that it was stupid of them to do it.  Hey TPN!  I’ve got a 2001 Olds Alero that I’ll let you bid on.  Runs nice.  Starting bid of $25,000.  That’s the least I’ll take for it.  That makes it worth it right?
