Things I Learned at the Portable Media Expo
I now know one other person in the world who uses a Sony Minidisc to record their podcast. Ron Moore and his Battlestar Galactica podcasts…
…told you I was right.
PME ‘Spoiler’ Headline Grabber
Frankly, after last year’s keynote shenanigans, I wondered what Ron Bloom would manage to pull out of the hat this year to deflect the mainstream media’s attention from the Portable Media Expo onto Podshow. How about $15 million round B funding, with a valuation of $35-$60 million on Podshow (numbers from Jason Calacanis)? When they [...]
Flight Resource Management
I guess I should write down a little bit about how I survive the 24 hour bed to bed travel from Edinburgh to Los Angeles. I’ve written previousl about some of the rules of thumb that I use when travelling, so this entry is all about the second topic. Resource Management.
Firstly, a little story about [...]
Tax Break For Listening To Demo Tracks
Another ‘Music Label Scheme’ to get more money out of a dying business plan. Given that they ‘discover new talent’ they believe that they should recieve a tax break from HM Customs and Excise and the Research and Development Tax Credit Scheme. And the BPI say this will lead to more investment in finding talent. [...]
Anti-Piracy ‘Boy Scout Badge’ Awarded

[...]

…Richard Hammond has left Brainiac. And Vic Reeves is replacing him.
Slowly, Slowly, Catch the Monkey
A little heads up on some TPN news: A big welcome to Scott and Carmen, the lovable team behind the Machelp from Maui podcast. They’re now, finally, part of The Podcast Network and producing our Mac Podcast. We’re in the process of moving them over to TPN right now.
It’s also great to have two of [...]
