Tax Break For Listening To Demo Tracks

Another ‘Music Label Scheme’ to get more money out of a dying business plan. Given that they ‘discover new talent’ they believe that they should recieve a tax break from HM Customs and Excise and the Research and Development Tax Credit Scheme. And the BPI say this will lead to more investment in finding talent. And in no way be reflected on the bottom line and passed back to shareholders. No Sireee.
That means that the music industry in the UK wants you, the taxpayer, to fund their attempts to pick the next music sensation that you, the record buying public, will be forced to hear 24/7 once we get sick of Jamie Cullen. Sorry, even more sick of. That’s not a private business, that’s state run annointment of a chosen few.
So, given that I’ve probably broken more new acts on TPN Rock than EMI as a whole in the last tax year, can I have my 10% please?
