All The C’s - CC Chapman’s Crayon Consultancy Community Conversation… thingy.

Sorry about that, ran out of “C’” at the end. Anyway, I’ve spent the last few weeks getting teased by CC, and getting close to what he was working on,
crayon is a different kind of company that integrates the best of the consulting, agency, advisory, thought leadership and education worlds. You and I both know that the world has changed even if other people in the marketing, advertising, and public relations sectors have not. The goal of crayon is to help clients make sense of these changes and tap into them in order to differentiate themselves from their competition, participate in community-driven conversations, and stand out from the crowd.
Which I think hits all the relevant 2.0 buzzwords. It’s a great concept, and I hope it works out for them (after all, if it does, they’ll need some contractors and freelancers close at hand… *winks*) but I really (really) have to critique them on one thing.
Capitalisation.
Sorry but any communications company that decides their company name will be cool if they don’t capitalise it just really annoys me. We’ve got rules of grammar in English (and sometimes I follow them), so why is your new company more imprtant than those? It just smacks of trendy ‘yoof’ marketing and I don’t like it.
As for the logo, ehrm… They’ve went for the split colour design (I guess to emphaisis the online nature of their work) but it just looks like they’re going for the Babylon 5 vote with the Green v Purple thing. I can just about live with that. But please, change the font underneath - it looks like something Donald Belsarius and Glen A Larson would fight over to get the ecxlusive permission to use it in the credits of an eighties detective show about a team of computer based marketeers fighting crime by night in the virtual world-
Come to think of it…

I think that they should hang their heads in shame that they didn’t get a .on domain name making the companies website to be, cray.on. That would make it a true Web 2.0 Company. Well that and the fact they skipped the most important step in a Web 2.0 Company, the Stealth mode where they just have a “give us your email address” box on there website.
