I’ll Be Speaking at Le Web 3 On Second Life

Word reaches me from Loic Le Meur that I will be one of the Speakers at Le Web 3 (the renamed Les Blogs). I’ll be on the Second Life panel, provisionally entitled “Our Second Life: Are Digital Worlds Creating a Virtual Life Better Than Our Real Life?” My part will be to discuss Combat Cards the (real) collectible card game in the (virtual) world.
Given that Combat Cards, in my view, hits a lot of what makes Second LIfe so ‘out there’ in a good way. There’s the commerce aspect, the community building, the user generated content, and the attraction to get new users in, I’m glad I can be part of a wide ranging panel on Linden’s world.
I’ll be joining Kevin Slavin (Playareacode), Claus Dahl (Imity) and Nevillie Hobson (Crayon), who may well have recovered from the Crayon launch event yesterday. Of course before that, Combat Cards has our launch event on Sunday. 10am-2pm SLT at the Spangle Combat Cards Arenas will see the public debut of the Halloween Horror Zombies and Vampire set. Should be fun.
But yes, Les Web 3. That should be fun too. Does anyone know some good (cheap) places to stay in Paris early December?

Of course there is the obvious cost savings in not having to fly people around to attend conferences by using a virtual world… :-)
