Last year, a pithy UK dance/pop number didn’t figure anywhere in the final result. Lordi, with their stage pyrotechnics, hard rock music and appreciation for metal scored the highest ever Eurovision score.

So why do the BBC think that they key to the UK entry is Morrissey for FSM’s sake? Surely we’d be better off entering Spinal Tap?
