Richard Vobes in the TPN Rock Chair

Those of you listening to TPN Rock regularly (and it’s not as if I haven’t mentioned by ‘podsafe’ Rock Music Podcast on this blog before). The reactions to the second show have been, as expected, amazing. I mentioned last week that I was hoping the hosts would run with the initial starting point and go wild, bringing themselves to the show.

It would be fair to say that this week’s host., Richard Vobes, has done exactly that.

I love the fact that after Paul’s safe hands to introduce the guest host concept the second show just goes to town with everything that’s so right (and wrong). Vobes does not do podsafe music at all. He’s not a music host. He picked three and listened to them live along with the listener. It’s just as mad as a mad thing that quotes Blackadder.

And it’s fantastic!

Sometimes I love the fact that the rules are here to be broken. Who needs a 30 second trailer when I give you thirty minutes! I’ve got a list a mile long of people who want to take part, and another list of the ‘who’d have thought they would do a music show.’ And a third list that has one name (Adam Curry) and a note that says (if he would, that would be hilarious).
