An Explosion Is Not Needed For Success

Multiple aircraft cancellations, Glasgow Airport closed, delays to flights across the country, an over-reactive number of visible Police carrying Heckler and Koch MP5’s in day-glo vests, talk of extending periods of detention before charge from the current over-zealous 28 days, communities across the UK turning on Muslims with racist attacks and graffitti, vilification of foreign nationals, massive amounts of security theatre at UK (and US!) airports, armed patrols on the Forth Bridges, and so on…

Sounds like a successful terrorist attack to me.

You said it. It’s asymmetrical warfare taken to the logical next level. Of course, the IRA managed pretty well with some well-placed phone calls.

The fear-mongering serves the purpose of validating the need for more resources for the security forces, of course. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship for the terrorists and those who try to catch them. And the public is caught in the middle.

Yes Ewan. Say what you like, but, whatever you do, do not yield. In fact, this is the perfect time to resuscitate old words like “yield” and “vigilance” - let’s find some more words like these and start to use them often…

TBH, I’ve seen little extra anti-terror lunacy in London. The general mood seems to be laughing at the ineptness of these clowns.

It’s not likely these particular idiots were of any danger to anyone but themselves, three car “bombs” and the most they managed to do was set fire to themselves. More crap terrorists than crack ones.

I get your point though, and whilst we need to be vigilant there’s no reason for us to allow a few lunatics to disrupt our lives.
