Thanks, Darla… Okay, five blogs I read not from Scotland. Here we go.
1. The Goliath Expedition (currently in Siberia).
When Karl Bushby left the Parachute Regiment in the UK Army, he decided to do something amazing. He decided to go round the world in a series of unbroken footsteps. Starting in 1998 at the southern most tip of South America, he started walking. As of now, some 9 years later, he’s journeyed through South, Central and North America, walked across the frozen Bering Straits, and is currently in Russia. His plan is to keep going until he reaches the exit of the Channel Tunnel, and head home, probably to Hereford. Absolutley amazing. And the initial budget? $500.
2. Randy [Tinseth’s] Journal, Boeing’s VP of Marketing (USA)
One of the best corporate / management blgos out there. Genuine insight to the mind, the methods and thje highs and lows in a huge company. A human face and a perfect use of a corporate blog. Required reading for any PR Flakey or management type that disbelieves the power of the blog.
3. The Devil You Know - Blogging The Devil Dared Me To (New Zealand).
Chris Stapp and Matt Heath, who I met at SXSW in Austin this year, are doing their best to promote their film The Devil Dared Me To - so this blog followss them around the movie conventions and exhibitons (and the local hostelleries) around the world. Love it!
4. Tom Coates.
Probably one of the top blogs in England.
5. Janne Jalkane - Butt Ugly.
Finnish self-proclaimed geek who I met through work on All About Symbian and have circled around since then. Good bloke, who was more than happy to see his code (JSPwiki) be the target of Security/Bug Hunt at the recent Defcon. And the Finnish sense of humour on his bloke may take a while to understand, but the effort is worth it.
And I think the point is the people I tagged now get to do their five. This should be interesting
