TPN Rock Live - Streaming and Podcasting Together
One of the rules I have when I do my music show podcasts is that I always do it live. No skipping through the music tracks I’m playing. After all if they don’t hold my attention, how can I expect them to hold the attention of the listeners. The ability to go live, against the clock, is a very useful one, both for podcasting and broadcasting in general, but in many presentational areas in life.
It also means that when I had the idea to hook the output of the sound board back into the laptop so I could stream out TPN’s Friday Rock Show through a Shoutcast server. So about ten mintues later, one server set up, and Twitter to punch out the URL had me not only recording the show, but a nice little side product as well. Differences to my style… minimal. Outward differences to what the show can do… quite a lot.
I’ve got the Shoutcast server for at least a month, so pencil in around 4pm next Friday (UK Summer Time) for another live TPN Rock! And for those of you that missed it…
