Flickr Video - Mobile Upload Test

Been looking at a number of video services online for some articles in the last few days, and one of those has been the new video service that Flickr offers. I can see why the 90 second videos would be regarded as long pictures, and while I’m still a touch unsure on how much of a good idea it is, there’s still no harm in kicking the tyres to make sure I can upload a video from my mobile directly into Flickr.

Interestingly, in the RSS feed that powers my sidebar Flickr Widget, the video appears as if it was a picture - no indication till you click through. This is where I think Flickr has a battle, to retroactively have all the tools that are assuming Flickr is pictures only, to accommodate video as well. The Nokia tool on the N95 only allows pictures, I had to use the email client to get the video upstream into the server, rather than a potential one click option.

I’m still on the no-video-on-flickr bandwagon, sorry.
