Repeat After Me, Twitter is Mainstream
Perhaps I was hoping James Whatley was making a Galactica reference with his “so say we all,” but no. He was pointing at 140Characters simple blog post asking for the arguments and questions to stop.
Twitter is now mainstream.
I’ll throw in two points which helped me make my mind up. The first is that when I’m writing up articles for the mainstream press (print or online) I no longer have to explain what Twitter is, and the sub-editors don’t feel the need to add it in.
The second is that the tipping point is now clear. “Stephen Fry’s I’m Stuck In A Lift” adventure relayed on Twitter, reached more people in 20 minutes than a BBC3 sit-com.
No further questions, your Honour.
