Stop It With Your April Fools “Fun”
Excuse me while I vent, but Aprils Fools Day just isn’t fun anymore. Every single company wants to do something “wacky and zany” today and starts launching products that are almost, but not quite, possible.
With so many Web 2.0 ideas a touch silly, but given VC capital anyway, there’s little differentiation. So I quit. Nothing from me this morning. Move along. Stop wasting ideas, time, and people’s goodwill.
Just stop it.
I’ll be back after midday.

This is a joke, right?
Which one, the post, the pizza, or man landing on the moon?
bah humbug
Hear, hear!
Could it be that ‘new media’ sorts are just really fscking unoriginal and so take every idea that anyone else has and repeat it over and over until it’s been flogged to death?
All you have to do is look around at the repetition in the cult of twitter, the mainstream abuse of indy trends or the depressing lack of originality or risk taking within TV and cinema; any trend that has a biscuit of popularity has the fun sucked out of it by the bandwagon jumping power point brigade from marketing.
