Tutorial: Connecting the PSP via USB
One of the strengths of the PSP is it can connect to any computer that uses USB, and it doesn’t use any fancy or propietory cable to do so - juat a small mini-usb to usb cable that comes in the box of the PSP Giga Pack - or you should be able to pick one of for a few pounds or dollars from the advertisers on this site. The computer will see any connected PSP as a Mass Storage Device - in other words it will be seen as a regular disk drive in the computer’s file manager and you can then drag and drop files however you see fit.
You only need to do one step on your PSP, and that’s active the icon marked USB Connection. On the main screen of icons, scroll to the very left hand icon (Settings), and scroll all the way up to the top of the list. You should have Network Update highlighted. One icon below this is USB Connection. Press your X key to activate this.
To stop the USB conenction (and you should do this before you pull out the physical cable) simply press O as the on screen message reminds you.
